Final Plans because Russ says the best way to communicate with him is via Live Journal

June 24th, 2005 (12:09 pm)

We will be: Arriving in Seattle-Tacoma at 10:55 PM this evening, PST. We will pick up our rental car and We will be staying with Kevin in the heart of seattle in a cramped one-bedroom on the floor, but that's ok because he's Kevin.

In the AM of the 25th, we will go to the park with Kevin and his friend to watch the Pride activities. Because we should be proud we know Kevin. In the afternoon, when Kevin has to go be a barrista, we will sneak away, as one would in the dead of night, and drive the 4 hours over the Cascades to Chelan, WA, where Russ will meet my godparents, Aunt Judy and Uncle Dan. We will go to Lake Chelan for the day on the 26th. After that, we can either stay with Dan and Judy, or head out to tour some more.

Now, I'm an idiot and it turns out that Anacortes is not Port Angeles. This may seem obvious to those of you who live in the area, but I do not. SO, the ferry we are booked to leave from is only 2 hours south of Vancouver (And not on the Penninsula as I stupidly thought). This means that we can head up to Vancouver on the 27th if we desire and either do hotel/camping or stay with my cousin Jeff. Or, we can stay in Chelan, or we can re-visit Seattle. SO MANY OPTIONS.

We are booked on the 2:00 PM ferry out of Anacortes, WA on the 28th and that will put us into Sidney at 5:05 PM. I did not book the AM ferry because Russ is a grouch at 8:15 AM and no way would he be game for getting there at 7AM. No way.

We'll get into Sidney at 5:05 PM and then drive the half-hour down to Victoria to either hassle [info]graye or find ourselves a spot to sleep. I'm not sure that part has been decided on yet or not. Eh.

Then, Between June 29 and July 4, there is a big spot of time where we hand our lives over to [info]graye and friends and I don't have to plan anything. We pick up again on July 4/5. I booked a ferry out of Sidney, BC on July 6 at 6:00 PM, putting us back in Anacortes at 8:00 PM. This can be changed depending on how we feel. I just need to call and tell them that I'm changing it.

Because it was the cheapest option and i like Russ to hate me, we are leaving Seattle, WA at 8:00 AM on July 8 and arriving at EWR at 4:07 PM. Perhaps we can call Continental and change that. Russ and I will talk.

That is all.

I go home to get Air Matresses and a frame pack at 3:00 PM and expect to be back in Hoboken at 4:30 PM. Our flight is at 7:30 out of EWR.

Now, it's time for me to shower and pack my toiletries.

EDIT It's occurring to me that Russ and I really need to be travelling with a powerstrip. It's that bad.

I believe you began the paragraph with "I'm an idiot" and ended it with "SO MANY OPTIONS", so I was just l(ing)ol and thinking "heh, yeah, that blows, having so many options. if only i could also have fewer options in my life."

so yeah, kind of sarcastic, and kind of trying to say "have fun"

Yeah, I should have gotten that. You're a peach. And thank you for humouring me - I'm taking things too seriously at the moment.

Was it a bit ago? I don't quite recall, but I read all your posts. Hmm...I'll read back through again.

irregardless, I don't doubt that it's awesome. I"m still shooting for coming out to LA before fall.

i live on electric avenue, one block from the ocean.

and yes, that is very much a beach. very much. if you walk the block to the beach, this is the view when you look right.

the best part is at night when i drive home, and i turn onto electric avenue, and the salt breeze comes in right through the window at that moment, powerfully.

I appreciate and love you for this. Though, keep in mind, we'll have three hours on our side. You'll be up at four in the morning, and 7AM is 10AM our mental time.

But yeah, probably for the best this way.

We can change it if you like. Or, if you don't like, we can leave it.

Sunset in Belize

The earlier you get up, the more daylight you'll have to get out and explore. Granted, it doesn't get dark until after 10pm this time of year. You could try and book a red-eye flight home and get back on the East Coast at 6 am ;-)
